Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique using a face lift machine that helps repair facial skin that has taken a beating from the sun, the environment and the effects of aging.
After too many years exposed to the sun, my skin began to look dull and tired and my skin texture was starting to show pigment irregularities.
I took myself off to a dermatologist to find out how I could rejuvenate my skin in a Non-invasive way. I was told Microdermabrasion would be the best choice as it is quick and non-wounding to the skin's surface.
How Does Micro Dermabrasion Work
My dermatologist used a microdermabrasion machine, a device like a fine sandblaster,
to spray tiny crystals across my face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to
remove the dead, outer skin cells.
Dermabrasion Treatments
I had 4 sessions, each treatment taking 30 -40 minutes. It's not at all painful, just a tickling and tingling sensation with suction, as the microdermabrasion head of the machine passes over the face.
I was informed that the number of treatments recommended for maximum results can range from 5 to 12, spaced from 2 to 3 weeks apart. Maintenance requires periodic repeat treatments.
Microdermabrasion Result
I experienced some redness for about an hour after the procedure.
After only 4 sessions, my skin felt overall fresh, smooth, with a healthy-looking glow.
I am delighted with the results and would be a regular user if I could afford it!
