why would someone brag about being from the "hood" or "ghetto" is what gets me.I dont hear her talk about it in this song but other people are discussing it.

Boohoo. Most of us did NOT come up with money and MOST of us work HARD for what we have and/or are today. But I guess her frontin', like she's from the hood, has helped her sell records so hey ;)

I don't think she claims to be from the hood, but she comes from a working class neighborhood. Her parents worked hard for what they had, but they didn't have alot.... I think she can relate with people from the hood, who didn't have much coming up.
