if anyone wants to be pedantic about the "Irish" or "British" drinking song...exactly who are the "British" then?, Welsh? Scottish? Northern Irish? English?....when the song was created, Ireland was part of Britain so the first would be right.

no. not because of the key changes. because of the range. it's an old irish drinking song so it stretches everyones ranges both up and down.

I don't understand when people say he sexualized the national anthem. There are no suggestive grunts, moans. It's not like he turned on "his sexy voice." That's just how his voice is.Sure he took artistic liberties with it, and it worked really well. Just because Marvin's version has soul doesn't mean it's sexual.
