your explanation did not explain WHY you think good and evil is objective OR subjective.-Here it is again in case you missed it. Why? Things that damage people's lives like rape, pedophilia, murder for selfish gain harm both individuals and societies no matter what culture it is. But, as I know from personal experience living in 4 countries, the view of whether some things are good or bad sometimes depends on the culture you grew up in. So, some/many things are subjective due to that.

this is so wrong! -While I don't agree with some of the methods or ideas here, it is no more wrong than teaching kids evolution or atheism or science which are all done with a variety of methods, some not much different from those above. To me, it's a heinous crime that kids are taught evolution as if it's science. To you this is wrong. It all depends on what we think is truth.

What if I told you your religion is little more than a consequence of the location of your birth? -Nearly EVERYTHING ranging from history, to science, cultural rules, taboos,food likes and dislikes, romantic rules,heroes,and so much more is to a large degree a consequence of the location of your birth. But, it is a massive fallacy that people in ANY philsophy don't consider ideas outside of that. It's also a massive fallacy to think that just because you grew up with an idea that it's wrong.

Many atheists think they are the most progressive intellectuals and consign religion to the dust bin of history. That's EXACTLY what communists thought they could do to democracy. You should read "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" by Thomas Kuhn, (professor at Harvard,Princeton, Berkeley) which documents how intellectuals/scientists do not always progress. Sometimes they give up truth/facts and regress in knowledge thinking that they are smarter. Atheism is yet one more example of this.

...Atheists act like Christians never think outside what they grew up with never ONCE thinking that the exact same thing is true of MANY atheists who grew up atheist. The fact is that maybe ~70% of people don't really question what they grew up with, whether it's Christianity, secularism, evolution or creation science, hinduism, islam, democracy, individualism, whatever. But,there are a few in ALL philosophies/religions who read beyond and honestly consider other evidence. Are you one of them?

Bunny,The above was hypothetical from Bye-Bye's delusional perspective. Moses is not even remotely similar to disney. Disney is fiction. Many Bible characters are historically documented. As to the Hindu thing, what if you were born in a family that practiced and taught you alchemy? Would you be stuck there forever and never consider all kinds of evidence from logic, experience, science, whatever? Different theories in religion are no different from different theories in science.

If you were born in a different part of the world, raised by a family of Hindu's and taught for your entire life to be Hindu, do you think you would still be a Christian? we need to rid the world of religion all together for the good of man kind, this shit disgusts me -I know this is the idea you've been indoctrinated with. But, this makes you no different than the Islamic jihadists or Catholic crusaders. True religion and it's inherents have brought the most incredible and important benefits to man. Before florence Nightingale for example, hospitals were places you went to die. God spoke to her and her efforts have resulted in many millions of saved lives.

Religion plays on the minds of the weak.-I'm sorry but this is just ignorant. Numerous Nobel prizes have been won by people who were and ARE strong Christians. Francis Collins, director of the phenomenal human genome project. Werner Von Braun, 1st director of NASA. Florence Nightingale, Newton, millions of others. Einstein (and MANY others) were convinced by big bang theory (invented by a Christian) that there is a divine being/superior intelligence. |
