Well there is one classical example to overcome these sorts of defenses...MIRV rockets for starters, then up the numbers.It may be able to destroy a few of them but in the end the mass gets through.

Railguns also fire solid bullets (rely on projectile's kinetic energy for damage) so this could be a problem as the laser detonates the explosive in the target.

It's already shooting things at supersonic speeds, it wouldn't have to turn very much more to shoot something at hypersonic speeds.You can keep your missile.

maybe it will fail against a rail gun, but then again it does work at the speed of light so what other weapon will intercept a rail gun?as long as you know the trajectory and have time to target it's possible to shoot it down-adding these to carriers at sea would make them near invincible...think about the future of taiwan, getting navy that close to mainland chinese bases you need defence shields that encompass the fleet otherwise you'll face 1000 planes bombing you |
