Dear bygmikeee,It's rare for the spacers to come out when brushing your teeth. Most likely reasons for the spacers coming out is when eating sticky or chewy things (like gum, gummy bears, caramels, etc.).If your spacers come out one or two days before your next appointment, it's generally not a problem and they won't need to be replaces. If the spacers come out more than a couple of days before, call your orthodontist and let them know.Good luck with your treatment!!Dr. Bergh

Dear thechocalateisgood,We use that weird thingy to help keep the teeth dry...that's one of the most important things when putting braces on. If the teeth are wet, the braces won't stay on the teeth very well.Dr. Bergh

I got the rubber things that feel like a piece of chicken stuck between your teeth. Are these called spacers, and what do I do if I knock them out while brushing my teeth or something?5 stars by the way.
